Fat Lips are Sexy

This is Kevin Bieksa with a fat lip.  This is what happens to a hockey player who gets a hockey blade clipped or in this case, elbowed in the mouth and causes bleeding inside and outside of his mouth.  Bieksa was hit by Trevor Lewis's elbow playing against the LA Kings on Nov 10 during their two week road games.  The screen cap was taken from the post-game interview and as you can see, it swelled.  He had to get stitches which I believe he had taken out yesterday and since then, his lip is starting to get thinner again.  Ouch!

Another thing about the game that got my attention was more hockey sticks breaking! This time it was Bieksa's sticks and not Edler emploding wood after every hard shot! Either these guys are drinking too much milk or the sticks are not worthy to be touched by Bieksa and Edler.  He was even quizzed about that by one reporter who I think is Joey Kenward, the Canucks Reporter.  Here is Bieksa's response in the middle of the video.  He blames the wood on being a "bad batch" cause it snapped even under the weight of his stickboy, "Red", who he claims isn't very strong to begin with.  Wicked Bieksa.

Kevin Bieksa Post-Game Interview starts at 1:45

If you'd like to see Bieksa's fat lip in person, he and Dale Weise have decided on a whim, it seems, to hold an autograph signing at their favorite deli, PHAT in Yaletown.  All donations go to the Canucks for Kids Fund.  So, if you have the day off tomorrow or just hanging around downtown and want to get a pic with that big lip, head down there.

Here are Dale Weise's tweets regarding the signing tomorrow.  He's obviously never done something like this before.

Then adds another tweet because he forgot something in the original...probably noticed and urged on by Bieksa to correct.

And then needed to explain where this location was.

Here is Bieksa's Tweet regarding this. Dale's is kinda all over the place which is why Bieksa obviously took the reigns to annouce it formally.

So, take lots of pics, get your gear signed and make a donation to the Canucks for Kids Fund.  What a great way to start your Friday, Nuck Nation. :)
